In March 2011 prosource.it became Scotland’s only SME to be selected in Lot2 of the Scottish Governments IT Managed Services Framework agreement.
This is a national framework placed on behalf of the Scottish Public Sector by Scottish Procurement. With the goal of reducing bureaucracy, lowering costs and driving economies of scale from public sector IT spend, Scottish Procurement sought applications from 55 IT service companies to qualify providers on to a 3 year Framework Agreement. prosource.it were one of just 10 successful applicants in Lot2 and the company now competes in mini-competitions to deliver IT services to the Scottish Public Sector.
The company is a home-grown Scottish success story. Founded in Aberdeen in 1995 it employs Scottish people in Scotland and has grown organically by over 800% in the last 8 years.
The company’s initial focus has been predominantly on the private sector, however the company strategy is to leverage the skills and experiences gained in delivering focused, flexible and effective professional services to protect and provide new jobs in Scotland through this exciting Public Sector initiative.
A wholly owned and managed Scottish company, the business brings alternative ideas, approaches and innovations to help meet the objectives of the national framework, reducing costs, delivering continuous service improvements and driving value for money. The business adopts a unique shared risk/reward commercial model which will give Public Bodies a partner that is committed to delivering to agreed specifications, timescales and motivated to mitigate slippage and reach a genuine value for money deliverable.
The company operates a flat management structure, maintains low central overhead structures and has a culture and ethos that clearly differentiates it from the other Tier 1 and Tier 2 managed service vendors previously servicing the Scottish Public Sector.
