2498 – Infrastructure Engineer

We have an opportunity for a highly motivated and skilled Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in supporting on-premise and cloud infrastructure technologies to join our dynamic team in Aberdeen. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for technology and a commitment to delivering outstanding results. You will have the opportunity to work on challenging and complex projects as well as providing operational and project support in a global enterprise setting. If you are a team player, possess excellent communication skills and have a strong technical background we’d love to hear from you. Hybrid working pattern, 2 – 3 days per week in the Aberdeen office.
What you’ll do
- Act as 3rd line support for Infrastructure related services
- Prioritise and manage incidents
- Manage and monitor event and alerts
- Technical planning and implementation activities for infrastructure related projects
- Identify and manage problems and perform root cause analysis
- Document and peer review operational support knowledge
- Maintain patch and security baselines for Infrastructure related services
- Design, recommend, plan and implement Infrastructure solutions
- Act as technical authority for Infrastructure services providing technical governance for change activity
- Liaise with infrastructure service vendors
What to bring
- Enterprise infrastructure support experience ideally within an Oil and Gas setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with individuals up to Senior Leadership level
- Experience of installing, configuring and supporting infrastructure technologies and products in both virtual and physical environments
- Transitioning on-premise and legacy systems to Azure
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience across the Azure ecosystem, in particular;
- Compute
- Storage
- Networking
- Security
- Management and Governance
- Skills in root cause investigation and the ability to resolve business critical issues
- An awareness of emerging technologies and demonstrable desire to stay current
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to be self-supporting and proactive
- Experience and understanding of working within an ITIL environment
- Relevant technical certifications such as Microsoft, VMware etc.
