We have an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and skilled Domain Services Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in Active Directory and experience of Azure Management to join our dynamic team in Aberdeen. The ideal candidate will also have experience in Domain Controllers, Multi-factor authentication, Group Policies, PKI, DNS, DHCP and IAM, and will bring a passion for technology and a commitment to delivering outstanding results. You will have the opportunity to work on challenging and complex projects as well as providing operational and project support in a global enterprise setting. Ideally you will be based in Aberdeen, but we will also consider candidates with a preference for remote working. What you’ll do
- The Domain Services Engineer works with the Domain Services Lead to manage the Domain Services (DMS) environment
- The role is responsible for the build, support, and management of all aspects of domain services, including lifecycle support from technology choices through build to deploy, run to retire
- The role will ensure the development and maintenance of all policies following the delivery methodologies for implementation into the operational environment
- Develops, deploys, and manages DMS to meet defined business specific needs as defined through the product maps / lifecycles
- Performs technical planning and implementation activities for domain services, such as:
- Active Directory
- Domain controllers
- Multi-factor authentication
- Group Policies
- PKI
- DNS
- DHCP
- IAM
- Acts as technical guidance on DMS elements of IT projects, and supports with changes, upgrades and enhancements
- Administers, supports, installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots DMS hardware and software estate as well as its domain services
- Creates and maintains documentation, including processes, procedures, design & configuration, and operating manuals
- Delivers DMS support related BAU services
- Develops and enhances existing technical skills, and works with third party vendors to ensure services and developed, enhanced, and supported
- Ensures all processes/procedures/work instructions are clearly followed to help improve reliability, efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness of service components under supervision for example ITIL problem and change processes
- Accountable for compliance with all IT related processes, policies and work practices
- Supports the development of future planning and product roadmap activity
- Works with minimal supervision, using clearly defined processes and procedures
- Facilitates the use of the performance metrics to improve output
- May be required to provide out of hours support via an on-call rota
What to bring
- Excellent analytical, collaborative (team working) with planning and execution skills
- Expert knowledge in DMS such as - Active Directory, Domain, controllers, Multi-factor authentication, Group Policies, PKI, DNS, DHCP, IAM
- Experience of Azure Management
- Experience of CyberArk advantageous
- Strong industry and domain-specific knowledge of the enterprise and its business units
- Experience of developing and implementing process improvements
- Self-motivated with a willingness to go the extra mile to achieve important goals
- Ability to deliver to governance practices to track and measure the quality of services, and maintain service improvement plans
- Strong third-party relationship skills, able to work closely with multi sourcing and vendor managers
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to the IT workforce
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- ITIL qualification (foundation at a minimum or similar demonstrated experience) and proven ability of working to the ITIL disciplines
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment to encourage collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
