An excellent opportunity has arisen for a SAP Business Analyst to join our team. The office is based in Aberdeen, but we will also consider candidates who have a preference for remote working with very occasional travel to site. As a SAP Business Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth implementation of SAP S4 HANA for Controlling (CO), Project Systems (PS) and Investment Management (IM) including related workflow and interfaces. The role also acts as the focal point for integration between Finance and Operations. You will have a strong understanding of SAP Finance processes and good communication skills to work with multiple stakeholders at all levels.
What you’ll do
Responsible for working with the relevant Finance teams and acting as an interface between them and the core project team in Beijing where configuration will be undertaken for SAP Controlling & Project Systems.
Define business requirements including:
Local customisations requirements including those required to meet regulatory requirements
Report definitions for either SAP or BI.
Engagement with the MM and PM teams to ensure all integration areas are adequately addressed and provide assurance the transactions arising from these areas will be accurately reported in S4 from a financial perspective.
Work with the business and other functional teams to ensure the processes and requirements of connected systems including the Budget system and BI/BW are incorporated into the design of processes and related reporting requirements
Work alongside SAP Data Analysts to undertake mapping of
Cost objects such as Cost Centres and Projects/WBS Elements
Settings such as Valuation Type to GL Account.
Key point of contact for Beijing / System Integrators for areas of expertise
Understand the Blueprint design for the relevant areas of responsibility
Confirm that regional requirements have been covered or identify gaps
Work with Global team on design
Perform Integration tests to ensure the solutions are in-place ahead of UAT
Ensure new business processes such as Budget Hard Control are implemented into the UK business in an appropriate manner without impacting the continuity of critical business operations
Support the Team Lead in defining and implementation of testing
Training – creating/updating material for training as well as delivering training
What to bring
Experience of SAP Finance and processes including SAP Projects, WBSs & Networks
Experience of key integration points between SAP Finance and MM and PM areas
Strong Excel Skills
Able to demonstrate initiative and naturally inquisitive
A quick learner with a structured approach to problem solving
A strong attention quality and self-review
Flexibility in their working style to adapt to changing environments and priorities
Plan and Coordinate activities across teams to tight deadlines
A highly effective communicator who will be able to adapt their style to different audiences at all levels in the organisation including being able to summarise, communicate and explain at a high level.
Oil & gas experience preferable, but not necessary
