We have an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Aberdeen. The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert (SME) for IT infrastructure delivery in support of ongoing project activities. What you’ll do

Act as a SME for IT infrastructure delivery in support of ongoing project activities
Provide SME knowledge and design engineering that leads to the creation of high-quality project delivery
Work with OT Operations and OT Security Operations teams, vendors, project team and wider IT team to define well designed solutions that meet project requirements
Liaise and engage with 3rd party vendors
Produce high level and low-level solution designs in line with company architecture and strategy
Identify divergences from best practice within projects and lead resolution processes
Undertake Installation, configuration, administration, support, maintenance and troubleshooting of project solutions prior to production deployment
Ensure timely and accurate testing prior to deployment
Engage with support groups to ensure successful technical go-live and hand over to support
Use change management processes to prevent unplanned production disruptions and outages
Be innovative, pragmatic and enthusiastic to ensure safe, secure and reliable project delivery

What to bring

Enterprise infrastructure support experience ideally within an Oil and Gas setting
Experience of Operational Technology environments an advantage
Experience of installing, configuring and supporting infrastructure technologies and products in both virtual and physical environments
Working experience of the following:
- Dell Servers
- VMware vSphere and vSAN
- Windows Server
- Active Directory Domain Services
- Citrix Virtual Apps
- Trelix (Formerly Mcafee) & Symantec AV
Knowledge of Information Security best practices
Ability to write and run test plans
Excellent technical understanding of the infrastructure being managed and being able to technically plan service improvements through implementation
Strong documentation skills
Strong knowledge and experience of IT change management processes and principles
Skills in root cause investigation and the ability to resolve business critical issues
An awareness of emerging technologies and demonstrable desire to stay current
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with individuals up to Senior Leadership level
Ability to be self-supporting and proactive
Experience and understanding of working within an ITIL environment/ITIL Certification
Relevant technical certifications such as Microsoft, VMware etc.
