An excellent opportunity has arisen for a HR Advisor to join our team in Aberdeen. As HR Advisor you will support the achievement of business and people objectives, by providing a customer focussed service. Assisting line managers and our people through professional, commercial and pragmatic HR advice and support.
This is a great opportunity to work in a generalist HR team, where you will cover the full range of HR work and gain experience across the full lifecycle of HR. This role is full time (Monday – Friday office based).
What you’ll do
- Coordinate fixed term contract extensions
- Coordinate, monitor and track the appraisal process, including following up on actions
- Learning and development coordination, including competency assessment
- Manage probationary period process
- Prepare HR documentation, including contracts, letters and reports
- Guide the HR administration team and provide cover as required (e.g. holiday or other absences)
- Authorise HR documentation prepared by the HR administration team (e.g. new contracts)
- Facilitate the disciplinary and grievance process, taking into consideration, risk and statutory process requirements
- Deputise for the HR Manager and assist with employee relation matters (e.g. TUPE, redundancy)
- Prepare and review payroll runs (currently twice monthly)
- Conduct security audit of HR system
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices
- Provide advice and assistance on policies, procedures, and legislation
- Ensure all Company policies/procedures are current
- Assist with and own ad hoc projects as and when required
- Support the business to achieve ISO9001 and then to maintain it
What to bring
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel (e.g. production of management information via Pivot tables)
- Experience of Data Analysis and production of reports using HR System and Excel
- Excellent Stakeholder management skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, written & verbal
- Confidence to deal with all levels of employees in the organisation, up to Director/Leadership level
- Ability to organise own workload effectively
- Strong understanding of UK Employment Law
- Time management and prioritisation skills
- Good understanding of Health & Safety policy
- Certification required: CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management
