Chrysaor - Duty Holder Transition
After acquiring several of Shell UK's North Sea assets, UK oil and gas company Chrysaor (now Harbour Energy) required robust IT support to ensure a smooth transition of services with prosource.it contracted to deliver the project.
The sale of Shell UK's North Sea operations to Chrysaor represented one of the largest deals and transfer of assets in the United Kingdom Continental Shelf in recent years with a total value of over $3 billion. With significant IT infrastructure and data being handed over, it was imperative that the process was as seamless as possible to ensure operational continuity.
High Level Scope:
At the high level our brief was as follows:
Duty Holder Transition Programme & Project Management (IT scope)
Identifying all Shell IT systems, applications and data / information changes required to achieve Duty Holder status
Risk assessment of every change and necessary mitigation
- Existing vendor management; contract assessment;
novation & transition including ongoing sourcing
Architecture, Design and implementation of Chrysaor networks, infrastructure and applications landscape
Establishment of operational support structure; SLAs; OLAs; performance management approach
Established post transition Managed Service
Being a large project and with many IT services and systems to consider there were some challenges to the project:
Maturity of the Chrysaor organisation
Navigating the Shell duty hold/divestment expectations and constraints
We ensured that productive working relationships with the incumbent duty holder and their remaining IT suppliers were maintained.

Successful midnight cut-over for all three offshore assets and supporting systems
