We have an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and skilled Applications Support Specialist to join our team. The role is remote working with very occasional trips to site in Aberdeen or London. If you are a self-starter with excellent communication skills and have undertaken previous Application Support roles we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll do
- Be embedded in projects delivering a multitude of different solutions from SaaS to Desktop Applications and Data integrations
- Support the product portfolio of Business and Engineering applications from both a run and build perspective
- Maintain applications in line with product roadmaps with lifecycle planning
- Deliver application support related BAU services
- Installation, configuration, administration, support, maintenance and troubleshooting of application portfolio
- Related hardware accessory support and asset management
- Responsible for testing and patching of applications
- Work with third party vendors to ensure services are supported
- Maintain systems documentation, ensuring knowledge base articles and IS guides are up to date
- Ensure events and demand are dealt with within agreed SLAs
- Deploy and manage solutions to meet defined business specific needs as defined through the product maps/lifecycles
What to bring
- Generalist applications support background
- Experience supporting a mix of vended solutions such as Client/Server style applications such as PSCAD, PowerFactory, AutoDesk, Faro Scene) would be highly advantageous
- Experience of Cloud Application services, M365, Azure, SQL
- Experience of database technologies such as SQL Server and Oracle
- Experience of application licencing models
- Experience and in-depth knowledge of managing support, development and testing of business applications
- Strong on documentation, processes, and a determined finisher, capable of handling the day-to-day operational pressure
- Ability to prioritise own workload and meet agreed deadlines.
- Strong organisational skills to be able to juggle multiple issues and changing priorities
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to liaise with various areas of the business to gather requirements for enhancements and to determine if they will add value to the business.
- Responsible for ensuring IT operational capabilities achieve regulatory or statutory compliance requirements
